In September 2003, Victoria and her partner Barry Rueger were invited to visit Cambridge Bay, Nunavut to help community radio station CFBI refine its mandate to serve the community more effectively.

The community is located on the southern shores of Victoria Island, 280 kilometres above the arctic circle

Victoria captured sounds of the community throughout the week and composed this soundscape. It also caused a change in her style of composition – prior to going up to Cambridge Bay, her compositions were dense, layered and full of abrupt cuts. The soundscape of Cambridge Bay isn't a crowded soundscape and thus, this piece is as spacious as the land, sea and sky of the Arctic.
